Week 2 College Football Odds First Glance

Obviously the big game for week 2 of the college football season comes Saturday night when USC visits Ohio State at the “Horse-Shoe”. The betting line for this game opened up with USC-6 and has quickly jumped to -7 as we have seen some serious early money come in on the Trojans and their true freshman quarterback. I hope the betting public is not looking to hard at the performance of Ohio State against Navy as their reason for pushing heavy money on USC. We all know Ohio State has been looking at this USC matchup since the loss to the Trojans last season. Do yourself a favor and grab that +7 now for Ohio State.

Some other week 2 point spreads that caught my eye:

- Notre Dame -3.5 @ Michigan: Michigan has some serious “revenge” here folks. Notre Dame opened up at -4.5 so we can only assume that some early money came in on the Wolverines and pushed the line down.

- SMU +11.5 @ UAB: If a total is released on the game make sure to pound the over. UAB has all 11 starters back on offense and destroyed Rice last week. SMU’s second season under June Jones will be take a big jump in offensive productivity. SMU is looking good here early as well at +11.5

- Troy +36 @ Florida: Do me a favor and please ignore what Troy did last week against Bowling Green. Troy will win the SBC conference this season…..I know that is not saying much when they are playing Florida, but Troy can hang with the big boys. Especially when the big boy (Florida) has Tennessee on the schedule the following week. Get on Troy now.
