The Latest Twitter Reactions to Sergio Ramos' Rumoured Move to Manchester United

When rumours of Sergio Ramos' potential move from Real Madrid to Manchester United first started to surface nine days ago, they were treated with scepticism...

There seemed little reason for Los Blancos to put one of the best central defenders on the world on the market in his prime, and the whole charade looked suspiciously like a player trying to improve his current contract—which, in the context of this summer, shall be known as "pulling a Dani Alves."

However, the Ramos-to-United rumours refuse to go away, with the Guardian among those claiming the Spaniard wishes to leave the club where he has spent the last 10 seasons, and the BBC noting that a £28.6 million bid has been made. The prospect of Ramos coming to Old Trafford is an exciting one for the Red Devils...

The transfer talk, however, has displeased the Madridistas who do not want to lose their star man at the back...

Understandably, the idea of leaving the starting XI of the richest club in the world and leaving the adoration of legions of fans behind has puzzled some fans. Some have concluded that Ramos must have a particular type of motivation...

The transfer tale took a new twist on Tuesday when Ramos' mother was accosted in her car. Mummy insisted that her little boy will remain in the Spanish capital, which suggests she is either fully informed of her son's plans or she simply wishes for her offspring to remain within the same country as her...

Redknapp was among the pundits and former pros who have voiced their opinion of Ramos, with most agreeing it would be a positive move for United. But former Red Devils striker Andy (sorry, "Andrew") Cole remains sceptical... 

It is not clear whether Ramos will be swapping white for red, but journalist Graham Hunter appears to be clear on his intentions...

Despite the recent developments and Hunter's assertions, a large proportion of fans still feel the deal is unlikely...
