Fantasy Depth Chart's Week One Sits and Starts

FantasyDCSep 9, 2009

Welcome to the first week of Fantasy Depth Chart's Sit/Start.

Week One is always the best week to take advantage of knowing your roster better than your opponent. So lets get started.

Start

LaDainian Tomlinson at Oakland Raiders: The Bay area step children got run over by each of their preseason opponents. Don't expect for them to turn into a miraculous run stopping team now that the real season has started. LT2 has owned the Oakland Raiders in the past and will be healthy enough to explode on this pathetic defense.

Adrian Peterson at Cleveland Browns: Unless the Minnesota Vikings jump to a ridiculously large lead, the Browns-Vikings game should be closer than some might expect. I would expect a very healthy dose of AP as the Vikings still look to warm Favre up against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns gave up plenty of rushing yards with both their starters and non-starters on the field this preseason and have been known to give up long runs. AP should have an excellent week.

Sit

Chris Johnson at Pittsburgh Steelers: The Tennessee O-Line has looked sub-par this offseason and unlike his counter part (LenWhale), CJ2 even with his speed has not been effective. This spells disaster against the best 3-4 defense in the NFL. The 3-4 is notorious for bringing the heat, while providing the ability for teams to run up the middle (given the single NT). CJ2 won't be seen running up the middle very often and will struggle to get outside against the best OLB duo in the league.

Larry Johnson at Baltimore Ravens: It's the Baltimore Ravens, so little else should matter. But LJ will be working without Cassel (whom the team had more trust in) against a hyped up defense (Ray Ray will have them going crazy). Don't start Johnson unless there are no other options.
