Carlos Bacca to AC Milan: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More
Milan have confirmed the capture of prolific Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca.
The 28-year-old Colombian moves to Serie A after two successful seasons at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League twice.
The move was confirmed on July 2 by the official Milan Twitter account:
As a proven goalscorer, Bacca represents a terrific purchase for Milan. He has netted 34 goals in La Liga over the last two seasons, scoring 20 as Sevilla finished fifth last term, per WhoScored.com.
He also netted twice—including the eventual winner—in May's Europa League final, which Sevilla won 3-2 against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
Bacca is a fantastic finisher, per Opta, and he will bring a much needed clinical edge to Milan in front of goal:
Per Matt Morlidge of MailOnline, he has been widely linked with numerous other top European teams, so the Rossoneri have done well to snap up the former Club Brugge forward.
Although 28 can hardly be considered young in footballing terms, he has a few years left in his prime and should prove a fine asset for Milan, particularly in the coming season as they look to challenge for top honours.
