Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Alexandre Lacazette, Luiz Adriano Rumours
Arsenal have reportedly been offered Lyon's star man Alexandre Lacazette for £21 million following a breakdown in contract negotiations between the striker and the Ligue 1 club.
The Gunners arguably need a new front man if they are to challenge for the Premier League title next season, and Lacazette was one of the most prolific scorers in Europe last season, netting 27 league goals, per WhoScored.com.
He was expected to demand a huge fee if he was to depart Lyon this summer, but the Telegraph are now reporting that he has been offered to the north London club for just over £20 million, relatively cheap for such a talent.

He would be a fantastic purchase at that price and would be a fine option to compete with the oft-inconsistent Olivier Giroud in the strike department, per Bleacher Report's Graham Ruthven:
Arsenal have already seemingly solved one long-term problem by finally confirming the purchase of goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea, who will surely now take the No. 1 spot between the posts:
The addition of 24-year-old Lacazette would strengthen another area in which the Gunners have often been lacking of late, bringing real depth to the out-and-out striker role.
While he would likely take some time to adapt to the Premier League, he could have no better mentor than Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who has a long tradition of working with Frenchmen.
Lacazette already has eight caps for the France national team, thus he has experience at the very top level, and he could surely flourish at the Emirates surrounded by the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott.
Another potential strike target who has been linked with the Gunners is Shakhtar Donetsk's Luiz Adriano. But the Brazilian may be slipping out of reach.
UAE-based side Al Ahli still believe they are in the driving seat to sign the 28-year-old Brazilian, with the club's chairman Abdullah Saeed Al Naboodah saying as much on Arabic television, per Abu Dhabi outlet the National (h/t talkSPORT):
"I had tweeted about this, that we did have an agreement with Shakhtar. Over the last three weeks we were close to a deal with the player. Things have changed a little over the last four or five days. But hopefully things are progressing to a positive resolution for Al Ahli. I cannot give you a percentage. At the end of the day it's all down to money. We must get to a figure that's acceptable for us and to the other party. It's a matter of finances and hopefully in the coming days, things will become much clearer.
"
Adriano is a fine goalscorer and netted nine times in seven Champions League appearances last season, per WhoScored.
However, Lacazette looks the better prospect. He is younger, should work well under Wenger and looks likely to be a prolific scorer on a consistent basis.
If they have indeed been offered him for just £21 million by Lyon, Arsenal should bite their hands off and look forward to a serious title challenge next term.
