Manchester United Transfer News: Arda Turan Bid Readied, Nicolas Gaitan Rumours

Manchester United could be on the verge of a big-money move for Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via talkSPORT, "United are ready to beat any competition to the 28-year-old's signature by offering Atletico £28 million for his services."

Turan has enjoyed a successful spell at the Vicente Calderon, but he is keen to try his hand in the Premier League.

Per Marc Williams of the Daily Star, the Turk's agent Ahmet Bulut, told AS:

He intends to leave Spain this summer. It is his will to go out to play in the Premier League, that is where he would like to continue his career at this time.

His departure from Atletico is not easy because he has a clause of £29 million. There are ongoing talks with three teams at the moment. I cannot say their names, but they are the best of England and European football.

"

United appear prepared to match Turan's clause, and the midfielder would make an excellent addition to Louis van Gaal's squad.

Turan scored three goals and made six assists in all competitions last season, and has spent the last two years establishing himself as one of the best players in La Liga outside Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Indeed, Real Madrid TV's Phil Kitromilides thinks very highly of Turan's abilities:

The Red Devils are still yet to fully replace the guile and creativity of Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes. While Turan may not be in that bracket, the prospect of him lining up alongside Angel Di Maria and Juan Mata is a mouthwatering one indeed.

Turan's outstanding vision and impressive dribbling would make United's wing-play reminiscent of days past, while his undeniable work rate and willingness to track back would help the Red Devils become a more solid proposition defensively.

The Turkish international would make an excellent acquisition for United.

Will Nicolas Gaitan Finally Get His Move to Old Trafford?

Nicolas Gaitan has long been linked with United, and this summer is no exception.

George Bellshaw of Metro reports Gaitan's agent, Jose Irribaren, is claiming his client is nearing a move to Old Trafford.

He said: "Everything is possible, there is a deal with Manchester United. The will of the player is that everything goes well. We are waiting for a response from the vice-president, which is why I cannot say much more."

Despite seemingly linked with United every transfer window, a move has never materialised. This could throw some doubt on the possibility of a transfer this summer, but Gaitan has enjoyed a season worthy of interest.

The Benfica star scored four goals and made a phenomenal fifteen assists in all competitions last season.

His key role in this excellent strike against Sporting was a particular highlight:

United need the kind of creativity Gaitan can provide, and after a season like that, a move to the Premier League is likely the closest it's ever been for the Argentinian.

Having just turned 27 in February, United could get several good years out of Gaitan, but if they're going to sign him it should be this summer or not at all.
