The biggest surprise of the very early college football season is the BYU Cougars.  The Cougars vault this week into the Top 10, landing at number nine in this weeks AP poll after pulling off a gargantuan upset over the Oklahoma Sooners.

Some are calling the OU game the biggest win in BYU history.  That could be the case, but only depending on how both the Cougars and Sooners play out their respective seasons.

BYU makes the seemingly odd trip this week to the "Big Easy" to take on the Tulane Green Wave (strictly for national television purposes), before making their home debut September 19th against the now unranked Florida State Seminoles.  The Cougars need to have another impressive showing this week, as this is the last nationally televised game of the season for them.

Although ranked in the Top 10 now, BYU will live the rest of the season in the shadows of the "Big Six" conferences, and for the most part will only have television hi-lights and box scores to impress the national media with.
