Hart Trophy

While cases could be made for Alex Ovechkin, John Tavares and Carey Price, it's tough to imagine where the Montreal Canadiens would have been this season without their goalie. Obviously, All About the Habs might be a little biased, but they clearly believe Price should not only win the Hart and the Vezina trophy, but also grace the cover of a new video game:
Price led the NHL in save percentage and goals-against average. He captured 44 wins for a team with an average to below-average offense that leaned on him to be nearly spectacular on most nights.
Ovechkin and Tavares had better teams around them, thus Price should be considered the most valuable.
Norris Trophy

As two-way defensemen in the NHL go, few if any had better seasons than the Los Angeles Kings' Drew Doughty. The 25-year-old had 46 points on seven goals and 39 assists to go with his stellar defensive work.
He spent an average of 29 minutes per game on the ice and had a plus-minus rating of plus-three. When asked about the extended ice time, Doughty told Scott Burnside of ESPN.com, "It's tough the next day, but usually your coach is going to give you the day off and let you recoup and whatnot."
What Doughty did this past season was especially impressive considering the Kings were without their second-best defenseman, Slava Voynov, who was suspended for most of the season after a domestic violence arrest.
Doughty not only picked up the slack, he also made himself an offensive threat. That dynamic pushes him ahead of Erik Karlsson and P.K. Subban.
Calder Trophy

Mark Stone and Johnny Gaudreau both tallied 60-plus points this past season, and Aaron Ekblad proved himself to be an excellent two-way defenseman. Ekblad stands out because he was an iron man at the tender age of 19.
He accounted for 39 points, with 12 goals and 27 assists. Combine that with his plus-12 plus/minus rating, four game-winning goals, six power-play scores and 21:49 average ice time, and the decision should be clear.
Ekblad could make the case he should have been a finalist for the Norris and not just the Calder.
