Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: Best MLB DFS DraftKings Lineup for June 24

Brian MaziqueJun 24, 2015

Chris Sale of the Chicago White Sox is the safest bet in Wednesday afternoon's DraftKings contests. Sale has been a strikeout machine for the struggling White Sox. While he hasn't racked up the wins at the pace you'd expect for a pitcher who has been so dominant, he is putting up hefty fantasy numbers.

In his last six starts, Sale is averaging 38.9 fantasy points per game. He's had at least 10 strikeouts in each of those games. Per Fox Sports 1, former White Sox slugger Frank Thomas calls Sale an elite and consistent presence on the mound:

Sale and Chicago will be on the road taking on the Minnesota Twins. This will be the fourth time Sale has faced the Twins this season. He won the first meeting but lost the next two. Sale hadn't quite found his rhythm in the two losses, and he seemed to be hampered by a foot injury he suffered in spring training. He's in the zone as of late, and handling the Twins won't be a major issue for him on Wednesday.

It'll cost you $12,600 in DK salary, but he'll anchor your squad with a strong outing on the mound. Here's a look at my full lineup for Wednesday, June 24. Just below the table is a closer look at four other players from the list.

Brian McCann ($3,800) vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Cole Hamels is on the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday. This usually means the woeful Phils will have at least a decent chance of winning the game. Even with that as a solid possibility, New York Yankees catcher Brian McCann is a good pick to shine.

McCann has three home runs against Hamels in his career in 61 at-bats. McCann is also on a six-game hitting streak. During the streak, he's hitting .421. Catcher can be a difficult position to fill, but McCann's eight FPPG are the second-highest of any player at his position who is in action on Wednesday afternoon.

Jose Abreu ($4,600) at Minnesota Twins

Speaking of hot hitters, Jose Abreu of the White Sox is another who is currently on a tear. Abreu comes into Wednesday's game on his own hitting streak of eight games. He's coming off a four-hit effort on Tuesday, and he's hitting .411 during the streak. Abreu's hot bat has led to his best month as it pertains to batting average. Thus far, he's hitting .311 in June.

Abreu also has a favorable matchup against the Twins' Phil Hughes. In his short career against Hughes, Abreu is hitting .412 with three extra-base hits and three RBI in 17 at-bats. I love Abreu's chances to put together another multihit effort.

Miguel Cabrera ($5,000) at Cleveland Indians

The only reason to feel comfortable putting Abreu at first base is because DK allows you to play Miguel Cabrera at third. Miggy has been insane in June and against the Cleveland Indians this season.

So far this month, Cabrera is hitting .397 with four home runs and 18 RBI. Even more recent, he has a hit in six of his last 11 at-bats. The Indians are sending Carlos Carrasco to the mound, and Cabrera has had good success against the 28-year-old right-hander.

In 24 at-bats, Cabrera is hitting .375 with a home run and three RBI against Carrasco. If you think that's impressive, take a look at Cabrera's overall numbers against the Tribe this season:

Of the hitters available, Cabrera is the biggest must-have.

Carlos Correa ($3,600) at Los Angeles Angels

The Houston Astros' sensational rookie Carlos Correa has proven to be a consistent fantasy performer early on. Through 14 games, he's averaging a healthy 9.6 FPPG.

On Wednesday, he and the Astros take on Matt Shoemaker and the Los Angeles Angels. Shoemaker has allowed five or more earned runs four times this season. One of those instances came in his only start against the Astros this season back on May 9.

Correa wasn't yet playing with the major league team at that time, but he's made his presence felt since arriving in The Show, recording seven extra-base hits and seven RBI. He's a high-value selection for the $3,600 price tag.
