Will Arsenal Regret Selling Aderbayor and Kolo Toure?

After an average season for Arsenal every one thought it could only get better, but could it? after a great signing for Arsenal in Arshavin in the January transfer window every one thought it could only get better for the Gunners, Arsenal needed strengthening in all positions this summer and Arsene Wenger new it. Wenger started off the summer well by adding to the defense by bringing in a brilliant Belgian defender Vermaelen from Ajax. He was everything Arsenal needed he was quick strong and had a good eye for passing. things were looking up.

After a quiet few weeks Arsenal sold Aderbayor to Manchester City. Aderbayor was unquestionably Arsenals best goal scorer over the past few years by netting 62 goals in 143 appearances for Arsenal. It was a big blow but he could have been replaced, even though he wasn’t. Soon after Arsenal lost Kolo Toure to Manchester City. Toure was a player who has been at Arsenal for six years and the younger players looked up to him. He was another big blow and could have been replaced but again he was not. 

That was it for the summer Arsenal loosing two star players, and a few other smaller players. But only buying one player Vermaelen. The team was week before the summer now it looks even weaker.

What is going to happen if Arsenal lose a few key players to injury this season. For example if Eduardo and Van Persie two very injury prone players get injured who would Arsenal play? the answer is Vela and Bendtner who lets be honest are both very very inexperienced. How would Bendtner and Vela play against a teams like Chelsea or Liverpool who both have a complete squad of experienced older players? 

Then in defense what happens if Vermaelen and Gallas get injured who would we play? Djourou is injured for six months and that just leaves Senderos in defense, who else is there? There is Song who’s played in defense before but is more of a midfielder. Or there is Silvestre who’s now 32 years old and could never keep up with the speed of Fernando Torres or Wayne Rooney. After that there’s no one else except for youth players.

 I think that Wenger will learn that selling two star players like Aderbayor and Kolo Toure and not replacing them was a huge mistake. Wenger should have signed another striker and a another defender, but its not all bad news, Rosicky is back in form once again and Walcott is on his way back from injury, and apart from Djourou and Nasri there’s no injures for a change. But that's not it, for the first time in a few seasons Arsenals midfield is looking solid and improving every day, there is no problems in midfield any more for example a player like Fabergas gets injured there’s Rosicky, Arshavin, Denilson, Song, Diaby, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott and Nasri (when he comes back from injury)  there to replace him, its the defense and strike that has problems and over the season if Wenger loses a defender or striker to injury, Arsenal have no chance of winning a trophy this season, lets just hope that every Arsenal player stays fit and dose not get injured.
