Pepe Reina to Napoli: Latest Transfer Details, Comments and Reaction
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Pepe Reina has signed for Serie A side Napoli on a free transfer after the Bundesliga champions released the Spaniard from his contract.
Having spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Napoli from Liverpool, Reina joined Bayern on a three-year deal last summer.
However, as second choice to Germany's Manuel Neuer, Reina made only three league appearances throughout the season, per WhoScored.com, and as a result, he requested a move away.

Bayern confirmed his departure on Tuesday, while Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis welcomed the 32-year-old back to the club (in Italian):
Goal.com's Miles Chambers relayed comments from Bayern deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen to the club's website concerning the departure of Reina:
"Pepe Reina has asked us to release him from his contract because he wants to sign for Napoli where he will have the chance to play as a goalkeeper on a regular basis. Reina has fitted into our team in sporting - and above all human - terms so we more than happy to comply with his request. We wish Pepe and his family all the best for the future.
"
Napoli confirmed the return of Reina in a statement (in Italian) on their website following him successfully passing a medical.
In his year-long loan spell at Napoli under former boss Rafael Benitez, Reina made 30 league appearances, per WhoScored, and he enjoyed his time at the club, per GianlucaDiMarzio.com's David Amoyal:
He will likely have a big role to play once again under new boss Maurizio Sarri as Napoli look to return to the Champions League, having finished fifth in Serie A last season.
