2009 College Football: Drunken Gator's Top SEC QBs after Week One
The SEC conference has a rich history of producing great quarterbacks.
After each week's games I will give a list of the best quarterbacks playing for the SEC this year. The standings will change often because these rankings are all about what the players do on the field.
The SEC went 11-1 in week one of the college football season.
The following is a breakdown of the top 10 quarterbacks after week one in the SEC.
Remember this list is compiled using a ranking system I have constructed that awards points based on passing and rushing yards plus touchdowns. The system will also take away points for interceptions, sacks, and incomplete passes.
Since there were several blowouts in week one, a lot of the top quarterbacks did not play much.
Here are the current leaders:
1. Ryan Mallett (Arkansas) 316 points
2. Chris Todd (Auburn) 269 points
3. Johathan Crompton (Tennessee) 250 points
4. Mike Hartline (Kentucky) 244 points
5. Jordan Jefferson (LSU) 231 points
6. Greg McElroy (Alabama) 228 points
7. Larry Smith (Vanderbilt) 216 points
8. Tim Tebow (Florida) 204 points
9. Chris Relf (Mississippi St.) 194 points
10. Jevan Snead (Ole Miss) 147 points
So that's all for week one rankings. Congrats go out to Ryan Mallett, the SEC leader.
Please visit my blog for all of next week's picks. So far I am 65-12 with one game left for week one.
Well, until next week remember peace, love, and the SEC!
