Who IS The QB In Cleveland?

Mark RileySep 7, 2009

Is Mangenius really serious about not naming a starter? Does it matter?

Just how stupid does Mangini think the Minnesota Vikings are? Does he honestly think the Vikes haven't watched enough film on Anderson and Quinn that it doesn't make any difference who he starts? Does he honestly think that the Vikings wouldn't prepared if the Browns managed to bring in Joe Montana as a surprise starter? In the age of film and all the technology and spies that prowl around in preseason, is there anything or anybody the Vikings haven't seem enough of already?

The only people who care at all are we Browns fans, and frankly, considering this teams prospects for winning in the AFC North, who the starter is doesn't matter one iota. I listen to the fans in the stadium, in restaurants and virtually every where I go, every one feels the same. "Who cares, they're not going to win anyway." If this team goes 4-12 again, I'll be shocked.

Be realistic fans: Figure on 2 losses to Pittsburgh, 2 losses to Baltimore and at least one loss to lowly Cincinnati in  our division. You know that Peterson is going to shred the D this Sunday and Farve is going to toy with our D-Backs and safeties like a puppeteer. We aren't going to beat anyone in the NFC North unless it would possibly be Detroits Kitties. Denver comes up in game 2 and we never beat Denver regardless of who's at QB.  Buffalo isn't going to let us beat them 2 years in a row and San Diego is a pretty good team...remember that LT guy? Yeah, he's still there. I predict a Peterson like day for LT when the Browns play them. That leaves Oakland (which, regardless of their record, always seem to be able to beat us) KC and Jacksonville. For some strange inexplicable reason, the Browns seem to have Jacksonville's number and KC is just plain awful, so take heart Browns fans, we could be as bad as 2-14.

All of that being said, in order for the Browns to do anything better, they will have to remain totally healthy, Quinn or Anderson (or both) have to be stellar, and Mangini's retreads and the rookies will have to play over their heads. People, there are THIRTY players on this team that weren't even Browns last season! So is  6-10 a possibility? Maybe, but lets not expect, or even hope for, anything more.

Don't take me wrong dear reader, I bleed Seal brown and Orange, and I ALWAYS hope, but I'm just keepin it real.
