Kieran Trippier to Tottenham: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Kieran Trippier from Burnley for an undisclosed fee, with the right-back signing a five-year deal at White Hart Lane.
The club reported the transfer via their official Twitter feed on Friday, on which the 24-year-old is quoted expressing his delight at signing up with the Londoners:

Despite suffering relegation with the Clarets last season, Tripper was a real standout performer for Sean Dyche’s side. His vertical forays gave Burnley great balance on the right flank, and he often bedevilled opposition defences with some fearsome crosses.

As we can see here courtesy of WhoScored.com’s Ben McAleer, the young full-back seems to be an upgrade on Spurs’ current options in this position:
While he does possess undeniable quality going forward, Trippier remains a little raw defensively, and that’s a side of his game that he must work on if he’s going to be a major success at White Hart Lane. The full-back is a little naive positionally and can be erratic when making challenges in dangerous areas too.

With the ball at his feet he’s a little profligate as well, as noted by Squawka Dave:
But there’s little disputing this move is an excellent pick-up for Spurs. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is looking to build a dynamic, young and energetic squad and the club’s latest signing fits the bill perfectly.

You suspect Harry Kane will thrive on the service likely to come his way from the right flank too, per EPL Stat Man:
Trippier won’t walk into this Tottenham team. Kyle Walker’s 2014-15 was blotted by injuries, but he’s a similarly effervescent presence on the right flank when fit; Eric Dier was also impressive in a variety of roles at the base of this Spurs side, including right-back.
Nonetheless, provided he can smooth down some rough edges in his game, Trippier has the talent to cement a spot in this side. He’s the type of player that will blossom with a better standard of team-mate, and deployed in a system based on high-octane football, the right-back is now at a club tailored to his stylistic principles.
