Up to this point, Harper had been healthier in 2015 than in the first three seasons of his promising MLB career. He most notably tore a ligament in his thumb last April.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, Harper is batting .344 with 22 homers and 53 RBI. He leads MLB in slugging percentage (.720) and OPS (1.197).
ESPN's Mark Simon commented on Harper's impact thus far for the Nationals:
Harper had a sore back in May and a bruised left knee in June. Both injuries only kept him out for a game apiece and occurred when he was struck by pitches.
For the Nationals' sake, it's good to see Harper back in the lineup after another short-term injury.
