Bayern finished 10 points clear of Wolfsburg last term, winning 25 of their 34 matches, accumulating just five losses and four draws.

Goals from Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller secured a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg in last season's opening game. This was followed by a 1-1 draw with Schalke at the Veltins-Arena.

However, the champions went unbeaten until Jan. 30, when they were stunned 4-1 by Wolfsburg after the winter break. Bayern will play host to Wolfsburg on Matchday 6 on the weekend of Sept. 22-23, with the return game taking place between Feb. 26-28.

Most of Bayern's dropped points were racked up at the end of the campaign, in which Guardiola rotated his side to prepare for the latter stages of the Champions League.

The Spanish manager should be expected to win Bayern's fourth straight title. His objective will also be to land the DFB Pokal while taking the German side to European success. The Champions League hurdle has proved to be the most difficult since Jupp Heynckes secured the treble in 2013.

Guardiola has stamped his influence over the squad during his previous two seasons in charge, bringing Spaniards Xabi Alonso and Juan Bernat to the club while also focusing on possession-based football.

Bayern suffered immensely when Robben and Franck Ribery suffered injuries last season, so he may look to sign additional quality for the flanks.

Questions marks remain over influential midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who continues to be linked with a transfer to Manchester United, reported L'Equipe (h/t Colin Harvey of the Daily Star). The 30-year-old's leadership will be difficult to replace if he moves on.

Guardiola will remain wary of Wolfsburg's threat and can perhaps expect a reaction from Borussia Dortmund, who enter the season with new boss Thomas Tuchel in charge. And Bayern will entertain their longtime rivals on Matchday 8 over the weekend of Oct. 2-4 before travelling to the Westfalenstadion between March 4-6.

However, Bayern should be expected to waltz to yet another Bundesliga triumph. The club's era of success rarely threatens to cease in the domestic division, underlined by Guardiola having his troubles yet still landing trophies.

They will look to attack Hamburg when the match arrives, laying down a marker for the rest of the campaign.
