France entered the Women's World Cup as one of the tournament favourites but hardly impressed in their first two matches.
They beat England in an uninspiring manner and then were upset by upstarts Colombia.

Not so in their final group-stage match against Mexico.
France stormed out to a 3-0 lead after just 13 minutes, and the third goal was a doozy.
Eugenie Le Sommer picked the ball out of the air with a wonderful goal for France's third.

Their opening goal was the second-fastest in the tournament's history.
France scored again late in the first half to make it 4-0.
