Matt FitzgeraldJun 16, 2015

Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald noted how long it had been since a Boston player accomplished the feat:

Holt, who got the start at second base, doubled to lead off the bottom of the first at Fenway Park, socked a single in the fifth, smashed a home run in the seventh and got the triple he needed in the eighth off Braves reliever Sugar Ray Marimon. The 27-year-old had two RBI in recording his four hits in five at-bats.

Red Sox media relations and baseball information manager Jon Shestakofsky brought forth an interesting anecdote regarding Holt's final hit:

Barstool Sports' Jared Carrabis believes Holt's performance merits a spot in the everyday lineup:

Detroit Tigers pitcher and Holt's former minor league teammate Alex Wilson was among those to congratulate him on his unique achievement:

Ryan Hannable of WEEI inspired some optimism in what's been a trying season for the Red Sox:

At least Boston managed to end a seven-game losing streak Tuesday thanks to an offensive eruption that featured 18 hits.

Experimenting with the lineup moving forward may not be a bad idea for Red Sox manager John Farrell, whose club sits in the basement of the American League East at 28-38. There's no question that Holt has provided a spark in the opportunities he's been granted.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, they face an uphill battle to keep their positive momentum going. Twelve of their next 15 games are on the road, starting with two in Atlanta and three against the reigning World Series runners-up, the Kansas City Royals.
