Stanley Cup 2015: Blackhawks vs. Lightning Results, Highlights and Top Stars
Just call them a dynasty.
For the third time in the past six years, the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup, this time defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in Game 6 to clinch the title. Duncan Keith and Patrick Kane scored the goals for Chicago—Kane's first of the series—while Corey Crawford stopped all 25 shots he faced.
Keith and Crawford comprised two of Game 6's three stars of the game, with Keith coming in as the first star and Crawford as the second.

According to SportsCenter's Twitter account, these players also helped the Blackhawks win the Cup in Chicago for the first time since 1938. Their two previous championships in this current run of dominance (2010, 2013) were won on the road.
Here's the moment when the Blackhawks lifted the Cup, with captain Jonathan Toews passing it along to veteran defenseman Kimmo Timonen, who nearly had his career ended by blood clots and will be retiring after this season:
It was a classy move from Toews, though would you really expect anything less from hockey's consummate captain?
Keith was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as this year's playoff MVP, and it was well-deserved. He averaged 31 minutes and six seconds of ice time per game and tied for the playoff lead with 18 assists. His goal in Game 6 was the icing on top of his postseason cake.
Pierre LeBrun of ESPN thought Keith was the obvious choice:
The game certainly had its share of highlight-reel moments. Ben Bishop, who stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced, provided the first with his brilliant save on Toews in the first period:
If that save wasn't impressive enough, consider that he did it with a torn groin, as he revealed after the game, per Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times (h/t ProHockeyTalk).
Of course, anything that Bishop could do in this series, Crawford could do better. Just ask Steven Stamkos:
Or Ondrej Palat:
Crawford's strong performance allowed this second-period goal from Keith to be the game-winner:
Of course, the highlight of the night was the goal late in the third period that clinched the Cup, as Brad Richards set up Kane with one of the most beautiful assists of the postseason:
From there, it was on to the celebration.
It's hard to say if the Blackhawks will be able to keep the core of their roster together and continue this dominance in the years to come. Frankly, so many deep postseason runs have essentially added entire seasons of wear and tear to the bodies of the organization's key players.
Of course, you probably wouldn't be wise to bet against them at this point, either.
On the other hand, the future looks bright for the Lightning. The team should return the majority of its core players and has a young and skilled roster that should be quite good for years to come.
Tampa Bay played the Blackhawks tough, as evidenced by the fact that Chicago's 2-0 win in Game 6 was the only contest in the series to have a goal margin greater than one at any point.
So the Lightning may be the future. But for now, the NHL's dynasty resides in Chicago.
