NASCAR Xfinity Series at Michigan 2015 Results: Winner, Standings and Reaction
On Saturday, Kyle Busch returned to the Xfinity Series and overcame a wealth of caution flags, a red flag and a highly competitive field to claim the checkered flag at the Great Clips 250 benefiting Paralyzed Veterans of America at Michigan International Speedway.
It proved to be the perfect welcome home party for Busch, the Xfinity Series' all-time leader in wins, with Saturday's triumph being victory No. 71.
By no means was it a run-of-the-mill victory for the veteran, though, not in his return from injury against a game field, with Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and others giving him a serious run for his money down the stretch.

To say Saturday's event was an entertaining affair producing a worthy winner would be an understatement.
The Sprint Cup drivers and talented younger contenders put on a show, sometimes going four-wide while jockeying for position. With risky driving the norm, four caution flags went up over the course of the early goings, prompting Kenny Wallace to praise the competitive affair:
"THIS @NASCAR_XFINITY race on @FOXSports1 is THE BEST of the year. "Side By Side" and how about the save by @chaseelliott 🏁

Fox Sports 1 captured two of the risky cautions:

The storylines seemed unlimited throughout the first half of the race.
Remember Busch? In his first Xfinity appearance since a February crash that left him sidelined with injuries, he led for 27 laps and essentially stole the victory with less than 10 laps left.
Logano put on quite the show in the middle stretch of the race after his fourth-place finish at Pocono, leading 54 laps before finishing in seventh place.
Chris Buescher also took the lead late before a caution with about 30 laps left due to a loose tire on pit road. Folks will recall he won in Dover with almost an empty tank the last time out and needed a big performance to fend off Ty Dillon and others on the leaderboard.
Buescher did just that, leading 23 laps and finishing fourth.
Paul Menard also dueled Busch, Buescher and Logano late amid multiple caution flags with about 20 laps left.
The owner of four top-10 finishes on the season going into Saturday, Menard needed a strong performance to climb the boards but left the race for good after being a focal point of the eighth caution flag, leading five laps and ending up with an 18th-place finish.
A Menard mixup produced the day's first red flag:

— FOX Sports 1 (@FOXSports1) June 13, 2015"
It was the seventh yellow of the day, though—a brush-up between Jeffrey Earnhardt and Darrell Wallace Jr. with less than 20 laps left—that threw the strategy for those near the lead up in the air.
Busch, Logano and Elliott dueled down the stretch, although Logano and Kevin Harvick almost hit the wall. For Harvick, there wasn't any ill intent in the late maneuver that took him and Logano out of the competition for the top spot, as Jim Utter of the Charlotte Observer captured:
"Harvick: "It wasn't intentional. I just didn't let me foot out of it. Was going for the win."
— Jim Utter (@jim_utter) June 13, 2015"
The mishap cleared the way for Elliott—who has gone 27 races without a win—to duel with Busch. The veteran took care of business by claiming the outside and cruising to victory over the final six laps.
Busch shared a special comeback moment with his family in Victory Lane:
"The whole family is in Victory Lane at @MISpeedway. Post-race coverage continues on #FOXSports1. #NASCAR pic.twitter.com/ifXfrkKwkH
— FOX Sports 1 (@FOXSports1) June 13, 2015"
Next up for Busch and the Xfinity Series is a trip to the Windy City for the NASCAR Xfinity June Chicagoland Race at Chicagoland Speedway, where the young guns of the circuit will look to fend off the Sprint Cup drivers at a tricky course.
Expect nothing short of another entertaining affair as the series continues to heat up, along with more leaderboard shuffling for good measure. With Busch in form, it feels like this season is just getting started.
