In an Instagram post, King declared that "this is only the beginning" for him with a photograph of him wearing a Louisville hat:
This is a huge coup for head coach Rick Pitino and his staff. King is the second-ranked small forward and the No. 16 overall recruit for 2016, per 247Sports. The site listed the Cardinals as the favorite to land his services, with Connecticut in second position.
As ACCSports.com noted on Twitter, King's commitment sets up Louisville for a big recruiting haul for next season:
King is listed at 6'6" and 185 pounds with length, athleticism, shooting touch and precision passing. He fits into more of the hybrid category, being able to control the ball and getting his teammates involved or waiting for opportunities to come.
Pitino has turned Louisville into one of the most dominant programs in the country with four consecutive Sweet 16 appearances. The addition of King in 2016 gives him a great starting piece to ensure the Cardinals keep that success going.
