United will field a team led by a truly heroic figure, as Captain Fantastic, Bryan Robson, returns to the hallowed turf of Old Trafford.

The former England skipper will be joined by a long list of trophy winners, including Champions League-winning goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and the Ginger Prince Paul Scholes.

Also in attendance are a multitude of treble winners from the 1998/99 season—when United capped off the club's greatest campaign with a famous win against Bayern—including Andrew Cole, Dwight Yorke, Phil Neville, Ronny Johnson, Jaap Stam, Denis Irwin and Jesper Blomqvist, per the club's official Twitter account:

MUNICH, GERMANY - MARCH 30: Mark Van Bommel of Bayern Muenchen is challenged by Wayne Rooney of Manchester United during the UEFA Champions League quarter final first leg match between Bayern Muenchen and Manchester United at the Allianz Arena on March 3

Former West Germany international Paul Breitner will manage the Bavarian side, which will feature familiar names such as Mark van Bommel, Giovane Elber and Bleacher Report's former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann.

Robson spoke about the occasion, dubbed "Red Heart Day," and he emphasised the importance of the game to United, per ManUtd.com:

"

It’s massively important. The Legends game against Real Madrid in 2013 raised around £1 million for charity with a crowd of over 60,000. That was great but hopefully we can fill the stadium this time around. To raise that sum was brilliant for a one-off event and I think it’s important to clarify all the lads play for nothing. Nobody gets paid for being involved and we know what sort of an impact the funds have on the community through the Manchester United Foundation.

A late addition to the United squad is former Czech Republic icon Karel Poborsky, reported by the club's official website, with the 43-year-old making himself available to Robson.

The match starts at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon but will be preceded by two hours of events, including live music from Union J, Ella Eyre and X Factor winner Ben Haenow.

The contest will bring back many great memories for United fans across the globe, as they reminisce about a time when Chelsea and Manchester City were mere afterthoughts.

The combination of Yorke and Cole will send shivers down the spines of all those watching, as supporters get to relive the most important moment of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
