Gibraltar vs. Germany: Team News, Predicted Lineups, Live Stream & TV Info

Stefan BienkowskiJun 12, 2015

Germany will go into Saturday's clash with European minnows Gibraltar with a little more pressure and anxiety than they ever thought they'd experience ahead of such a game.

Joachim Low's team are expected to beat their hosts quite comfortably on the day but following a recent defeat to the U.S. on Wednesday and a rather clumsy qualifying campaign thus far the newly crowned word champions will feel as though they have a point to prove.

Such news will come as grim reading for Gibraltar manager David Wilson and his side, who have yet to pick up a single point in the campaign with just one goal scored and 27 conceded thus far.

This game may be a contest in name but it should resemble something more akin to a pre-season friendly for much of Low's world-beating stars.

Expected Lineups

Key Players

Mesut Ozil

As obvious as it may sound, Germany will have to make sure they get a goal as quick and early as they possibly can. Because if their hosts can hold out for the first 20 or 30 minutes, then tension will grow and nerves will begin to boiling point.

As such the need to break down at least two walls of defenders will undoubtedly rest on the shoulders of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil. The attacking midfielder will be playing through the middle of the park and it will be between the lines where Low will hope the magician will work his magic and find the assists to pull Germany ahead on Saturday.
