Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: MLB DraftKings Ideal Lineup Picks for June 11

Mark VandeusenJun 11, 2015

Thursdays are always exciting when it comes to DraftKings daily fantasy baseball.  Not only are there afternoon games, but also a smaller than usual number of teams in action.  Whether you're playing in an early contest, a late one, or both, making the right picks becomes crucial when there aren't as many options to choose from.

Here are five of the best values on the board for June 11.

Afternoon

TOP NEWS

Washington Nationals v Los Angeles Angels
New York Yankees v. Chicago Cubs

Chi Chi Gonzalez, P ($5,600) at Oakland A's

There are no big-name pitchers going in the day games, making it a good time to spend most of your money on offense instead.  Chi Chi Gonzalez has the potential to provide great numbers on the mound at a bargain price.

The 23-year-old has made just two major league starts, but the results to date are quite impressive.  Gonzalez threw a complete-game shutout in his last outing and has yet to give up an earned run over 14.2 innings.

With a pair of victories, Gonzalez posted 16.6 fantasy points in his first appearance and 30.3 in his second.  He only has a total of four strikeouts, but among the six pitchers available, the rookie is a risk worth taking.

Cameron Maybin, OF, Atlanta Braves ($3,400)

Cameron Maybin is on fire of late, making him a must-start at just $3,400.

Maybin has a seven-game hitting streak going, with multiple hits in six of them.  He's 14-for-29 in the month of June, good for a .483 batting average.  On May 13, Maybin's season average stood at .216—he'll step into the box on Thursday hitting .303.

For the year, Maybin is averaging 7.5 fantasy points per game, which makes him easily the most prolific scorer in his price range.  However, over his last nine games, that number jumps up to 11.33 per contest.

Evening

Wade Miley, P ($6,600) at Baltimore Orioles

As with the afternoon contests, there aren't any aces taking the hill in the evening's games.  In a thin field of available pitchers, Wade Miley may be as good a bet as any at a reasonable price.

Miley got off to a terrible start in 2015, but he's recovering quite well.  The lefty earned victories in four of his past five starts, while holding his opponent to two or fewer runs in each win.

On Thursday, Miley faces an Orioles lineup that has struck out 478 times this season, the third most in the American League.

Dustin Pedroia, 2B, Boston Red Sox ($4,300)

Few MLB players are hotter at the moment than Dustin Pedroia, who's rebounding nicely from a subpar 2014.

Pedroia is hitting .312 this year, the seventh-best average in the American League.  He's also tied for sixth in baseball with 74 total hits.

Since the start of June, Pedroia is batting .438 with a .500 on-base percentage and a .594 slugging percentage.  In addition, he's reached base multiple times in six of nine games this month.

Buster Posey, 1B/C, San Francisco Giants ($4,100)

PHILADELPHIA, PA - JUNE 05: Buster Posey #28 of the San Francisco Giants is congratulated by teammates after hitting a solo home run in the seventh inning of the game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on June 5, 2015 in Philadelphia,

Buster Posey is currently in the midst of a modest five-game hitting streak.  He's 9-for-24 during that stretch, with four extra-base hits and five RBI.

Although Posey's overall 7.6 fantasy points per game this season aren't great for his $4,100 salary, he has a fantastic matchup on Thursday against the New York Mets' Jon Niese.

Posey's .295 batting average and 62 total hits both rank No. 1 among MLB catchers, while his nine home runs are tied for second.
