Ronaldinho Poised to Join Samuel Eto'o at Antalyaspor in Turkey
Tuesday, June 30
"We have reached an agreement with Ronaldinho. I think within two days it'll be made official," Antalyaspor president Gultekin Gencer told Turkish television channel TRT Spor (h/t Anthony Chapman of the Daily Express). "Besides (Samuel) Eto'o and Ronaldinho, we will make another big-name signing. When it's done, we'll set the world on fire!"
Ronaldinho had previously been negotiating a move to Vasco da Gama, reported by Sport on June 22.
The former Barcelona star joined Queretaro last September but only made it halfway through his two-year deal with the Mexican outfit after being used sparingly in the final months of the season.
ESPN FC's Tom Marshall reported a link between the 35-year-old and L.A. Galaxy, but Robbie Keane, Omar Gonzalez and the impending arrival of Steven Gerrard means the club already have the maximum three Designated Players.
Despite his age, Ronaldinho can still pose a substantial marketing figure in football, something clubs from around the world are sure to examine as he looks to once again extend his career.
