LeBron James Gave Cavs Teammates Gifts Including Apple Watches Before NBA Finals

Thomas DuffyJun 8, 2015

LeBron James has been an absolute superhero through the first two games of the NBA Finals, averaging 41.5 points, 12 rebounds and 8.5 assists.

He has carried his teammates to the precipice of a title and given them a chance to etch their names in the basketball history books.

But that’s not all he’s given them.

According to Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group, LBJ dropped the Superman cape and donned a Santa Claus beard before Game 1. Among James’ gifts were Apple watches and haircuts.

Update from Tuesday, June 9

As it turns out, James—a Samsung endorser—did not gift his teammates Apple watches. Instead, he gave his teammates Samsung phones.

Haynes provided an update on the situation: "A rep for LeBron James says Beats, who he has been with since its inception and was later acquired by Apple, provided the watches as a gift to the Cavaliers. James, we're being told, personally handed out Samsung Galaxy Edge phones at the meeting."

“Look, LeBron is probably the greatest player in the world who gives out gifts like it's candy,” reserve center Brendan Haywood said. “We look forward to it every single time.”

J.R. Smith, a soon-to-be free agent, was also pumped up over James’ generosity.

"I don't know how he does it, but every day it's something different," Smith said. "Watches, sneakers, Beats [headphones], hoodies, book-bags. Man, I can't wait to come back next year. I want to see what we're getting next year."

The King really seems to treat his teammates like royalty. The least they can do is show up for the rest of the Finals.
