MiLB Player Gets Mustache-Style Haircut After Losing College World Series Bet
A signed document meant there was no way Omaha Storm Chasers (Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) southpaw Buddy Baumann would be able to back out of a bet he made with a teammate.
Baumann, a Missouri State product, made a College World Series bet with Omaha outfielder Brett Eibner, a former Arkansas Razorback. The two players' alma maters met in the 2015 college baseball Super Regionals.
The matchup presented the perfect opportunity to make a friendly wager:
Well, Arkansas scored three in the first inning of Game 3 and held on for a 3-2 victory. With the win, the Razorbacks advanced to the College World Series.
Missouri State's loss meant that Baumann had to make good on the bet:
Seeing those pictures makes you wonder what Baumann would do if the Royals called him up anytime soon. Would he make his major league debut with a haircut like that, or would he shave it off? Maybe Eibner would be willing to let Baumann off the hook if that were to happen.
