Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Sevilla speedster Aleix Vidal on a five-year deal that will see him remain at the Camp Nou until the summer of 2020.

The club's official website announced on Sunday evening that Vidal will be presented as a Barcelona player at 12 p.m. BST, with the Daily Mail reporting his transfer fee as being worth £7.5 million:

It's a shrewd acquisition for Luis Enrique's side, and should Dani Alves decide his future lies away from Catalonia, Vidal promises to bring a like-minded, pacey approach to the right wing-back position.

Vidal signed his contract with the club on June 8, as the official Barcelona Twitter feed recorded:

Barca's transfer ban prevents the club from registering new players, however, meaning Vidal won't be able to play for the club until January 2016.

Vidal joins the reigning champions of Spain and Europe, having claimed a continental crown of his own this term in the Europa League and just breaking into Vicente del Bosque's Spain setup.
