Barcelona Parade 2015: Twitter Reaction, Photos, Videos, GIFs and More

Tom SunderlandJun 7, 2015

Not even 24 hours after sealing an illustrious treble in Berlin, Barcelona arrived back in their native city on Sunday to bask in their silverware glory with the rest of Catalonia.

Having swiftly flown back to Spain, Barca set off on a double-decker bus at Parc de l’Estacio del Nord, venturing past Avinguda de Vilanova, Arc de Triomf, Ronda de Sant Pere and Ronda de Sant Pere-Placa Urquinaona.

Although this isn't the first time the Blaugrana have won the treble—they won the Champions League, Copa del Rey and La Liga in 2008-09—it was still something of a unique sight to see three such fabled trophies adorning their mode of transport.

Precariously perched atop the bus, Barca showed off the spoils of a rigorous 2014-15 campaign, with manager Luis Enrique turning his maiden term around in a major way, per Barcastuff:

Looking back, it's almost absurd to think the former Barcelona playmaker ever saw his reign at the club's helm doubted, and yet Phil McNulty of BBC Sport reports his future at the Camp Nou remains uncertain.

Sunday's celebrations, however, were solely about basking in the present, and as the European champions wound their way through the streets of Barcelona, supporters turned out in the thousands to show their appreciation:

Several of those involved in Sunday's extravaganza were lucky enough to be experiencing the occasion for a second time, having been a part of the side that beat Manchester United 2-0 in Rome six years ago.

And after conjuring up some classic form against Juventus on Saturday, veteran midfielder Andres Iniesta deservedly soaked up the plaudits from a city that adores him so, posting his excitement on Twitter:

Gerard Pique is another member of the Barca fraternity lucky enough to have played a role in both the 2009 and 2015 triumphs, and the centre-back unsurprisingly stood out during Sunday's festivities:

The bus route reached its end at the Camp Nou, but not before passing the Passeig de Gracia to Arago and merging into Avinguda de Roma.

As the club's official Twitter account showed, there wasn't a shred of the trophy path where fans weren't present in droves, and Barcelona officially entered party mode:

One figure every bystander assuredly had in his or her heart was departing veteran Xavi. The midfielder ended his Blaugrana career on a high, clinching another treble and becoming the Champions League's all-time record appearance holder, with Saturday's cameo being his 151st in total:

Enrique may have appeared stern, stiff even, at times during his first managerial season with Barca, but the manager saw fit to let his hair down and show his elation along with those charges under him:

After months upon months of work and tireless improvement, Barcelona figure as arguably the best team in club football once again.

Despite Brazil's Copa America lying just around the corner, Barca HD posted footage of Saturday goalscorer Neymar getting his hands on some McDonald's, nutrition seemingly the least of his concerns for now:

Of course, the celebrations wouldn't have been complete without mention of heroic duo Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, whose prolific form alongside Neymar has been fundamental to the team's success this term.

The pair were also on hand to take in what a momentous occasion this was for Barcelona, and while the sensation was a familiar one for Messi, Suarez took in such scenes for the first time in his career:

Coming into the home stretch, the gilded warriors of Barcelona savoured their last applause on street level before taking that party atmosphere into the hub of Catalan football—the Camp Nou.

The stadium allowed its patrons in for free on Sunday, and it's no surprise the tickets on offer went fast, with the arena starting to fill up long before the bus was within sight:

Days such as these are reserved for only those rare sides talented enough to haul in achievements as illustrious as a treble, where an entire city comes together in respect of their team's accomplishment.

It's the XI on the pitch who ultimately undertake the brunt of the work, but it's scenes like those witnessed in Barcelona on Sunday that remind us who the trophies truly belong to.

The only question remaining now is where Enrique and this world-beating lineup go from here, with the manager and his players alike hoping to match these celebrations in a year's time.
