Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

After his comfortable victory over Roger Federer in the quarter-finals, Wawrinka took on the ever-popular Tsonga in a bid to reach his second Grand Slam final.

Wawrinka upset Federer in his last match.

It's the third time they have met at Roland Garros, with honours even at one match apiece prior to Friday's clash.

Per the New York Times' Christopher Clarey, Wawrinka was full of confidence heading into the match, and rightly so after his dominant performance over compatriot Federer:

Tsonga, meanwhile, enjoyed the home support from the French crowd to place yet another hurdle in the Swiss star's path.

Of course, this brought its own pressure for Tsonga too, as the Frenchman carried the expectations of his country on his shoulders. He also aimed for the second Grand Slam final of his career, having fallen short at the semi-final stage five times since finishing runner-up in Australia in 2008.

As Clarey notes, Tsonga had performed well going into the clash, with his movement and backhand proving particular highlights:

Each player faced his own pressures, and with an even record between the two of them, the first semi-final was a case of which player would hold his nerve and which would succumb to the tension.

Andy Murray vs. Novak Djokovic

Given Djoker's form in 2015, Murray could be forgiven some nerves as he looks to turn around a seven-match losing streak against the world No. 1.

As Tennis View Magazine's Chris Skelton notes, Djokovic holds an imposing record on clay heading into the match:

However, the Scot has boasted some excellent form of his own this year, having won 15 matches in a row on clay, which saw him pick up titles in Munich and Madrid last month.

Murray is in excellent form.

As BBC Sports' Kheredine Idessane reports, Murray is hopeful of using his momentum to secure a win over his rival:

Per Sky Sports, Murray added:

"

I feel like to put yourself in a position to win against the best players in the world, it's not just about one day before the match.

It's about what you do in the whole of the build-up to it. Going into the match having not lost on clay this year and having some big wins on the surface is important for me.

"

As Djokovic moves from strength to strength, it's hard to look past the 28-year-old securing a place in the final and most likely going on to win the championship.

Djokovic overcame Nadal in the quarter-finals.

Having already beaten the undisputed master of the French Open in Rafael Nadal, Djoker will be extremely confident of progressing on Friday.

However, Murray has returned to some of the best form in his career and could give Djokovic a real scare at Roland Garros.
