Central Michigan is really, really good, and Arizona better not overlook this MAC powerhouse just because they’re not a Pac 10 team. The Chippewas are led by Senior QB Dan LeFevour, who threw for nearly 3000 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. LeFevour will have his two favorite receivers back this year, as first team all MAC players Antonio Brown and Bryan Anderson both return to bolster this dynamic offense. Central Michigan will attempt to become the first team in MAC history to win three straight conference titles.
Arizona made their return to a bowl game last year, winning the Las Vegas Bowl over BYU, but lost some vital pieces to that squad, including QB Willie Tuitama. Sophomore Matt Scott is expected to take over at QB, and RB’s Nic Grigsby and Keola Antolin both return, which will help Scott adjust. The defense is the question mark, which is not a good sign against CMU’s prolific offense. Look for a close game tonight and a possible outright win for Central Michigan.
