Barcelona forward Pedro has signed a new four-year deal with the Blaugrana, which will keep him at the Camp Nou until 2019.

The club confirmed the news on Thursday, putting to bed rumours that the 27-year-old may depart the Catalan giants in the summer:

The club's website confirmed that Pedro's buyout clause remains at €150 million (£110 million).

The Spain international was entering the last year of his contract at Barca, and a potential move to Arsenal had been mooted by many, per the Daily Star's Jamie Anderson.

Liverpool were also mooted as potential suitors for the winger, per Joe Rimmer of the Liverpool Echo.

However, it seems that Pedro is now happy to continue with the champions of La Liga, despite often playing second fiddle to the likes of Luis Suarez and Neymar.

He only started 15 La Liga games in the 2014-15 season, per WhoScored.com, but his versatility and goalscoring abilities still make him a terrific asset to Barca, especially as a back-up player.

As noted by Sport's Samuel Marsden, Pedro has the ability to fill a variety of roles at the Camp Nou:

Having been part of Barcelona's youth setup, Pedro debuted for the first team in 2008. He is a five-time La Liga winner and has won the Champions League twice with the club.

With four more years to come at the Camp Nou, he will no doubt pick up even more silverware.
