With all the information in, the biggest question on everyone's mind is: Will American Pharoah make history?
Bob Baffert Seems to Like His Chances

American Pharoah's trainer Bob Baffert has had three previous chances to win the Triple Crown. The legendary trainer had Silver Charm in 1997, Real Quiet in 1998 and War Emblem in 2002. Per Jim Chairusmi of The Wall Street Journal, Baffert recently said: “I really feel like it’s a different vibe this year with this horse."
Why not? American Pharoah has proven to have the versatility most would associate with a horse capable of winning the Triple Crown. He ran down fellow Baffert trainee Dortmund and Firing Line at the Derby. Then he sprinted past a small field at the Preakness—despite a muddy track and drawing a rail position.
Because of his winning performances, American Pharoah has fans from all over.
Vote of Confidence from a Past Winner

Ron Turcotte, the jockey that rode Secretariat during his Triple Crown run in 1973, likes American Pharoah's chances to become the first horse to equal the feat in 37 years. Turcotte told Steve Petrella of the Sporting News: "He [American Pharoah] seems to be very versatile to me. You can place him whenever you want in a race, then just let him gallop on. Only a couple horses can do that, but he seems to be that kind of horse."
There's that "v" word again. With legendary jockeys like Turcotte using it to describe American Pharoah, you have to believe there's some truth to the perception.
Prediction
I'm drinking the Kool-Aid as well. American Pharoah will benefit from a relatively weak and small field. His toughest tests will come from horses he's already beaten in the Derby (Frosted and Materiality). That should be a confidence builder for those considering betting on the favorite.
Everyone get ready to see history made in the sport of kings. American Pharoah is going to win the Triple Crown.
