Byron Hout Only Talks the Talk, but LeGarrette Blount Walks the Walk Goodbye
Two sad incidents took place last night. Following the conclusion of the Boise State-Oregon game, the first sad incident was taunting.
Byron Hout acted like a school yard braggart and wanted to talk trash to an opponent he had just helped defeat.
Well, Mr. Hout, America saw you talk the talk, and also saw you not be able to walk the walk. You went down like 90-pound, 12-year-old girl with just one quick punch.
We all now know you can't walk the walk. You trash talked the wrong guy and went as limp as a dishrag on national television for your stupidity.
The fact that your coach is as limp as you and did not suspend you at least one game for your poor sportsmanship shows your team has as little class as you do.
I rarely look with disdain over a team because of the actions of one person, but in the case, because the coach joined you with his lack of leadership and accountability, I hold your whole team in contempt.
Now for LeGarrette Blount and the second incident, in punching out Hout you sank even lower.
You have been a problem to your team before. You were counseled in behavior, yet you are the lowest of the low in this case because you put your own feelings above the good of your team and your coach.
I'm glad they suspended you for what is in effect, the rest of your college career and ruined what may have been a promising professional career.
You, sir, are just too stupid to be among quality athletes who work so hard and put so much into helping their team be the best.
You are an train wreck waiting to happen and your actions may have helped ruin your teams chances for success for the whole year.
If anyone should be commended in this situation, it the head coach of Oregon, Chip Kelly.
There may be some blame that goes to him for not preparing a player he knew to be a time bomb from going off, but when he was the video, the decision was quick, severe, final and fitting.
There is no place in college football for players like Blount.
Good riddance.
But for Boise's Hout, you should have at least sat a game to think about your mistakes, too.
Since your coach didn't think so, then consider this for punishment. We now know you as someone who lets their mouth write checks your girly glass jaw can't cash. You will be replayed on "YouTube" for years and laughed at.
Maybe the punishment is fitting for both of you.
