Lacazette to Agree New Lyon Contract Despite Attitude Concerns

According to L'Equipe (via Get French Football) Lacazette will accept the contract extension offered by Lyon three weeks ago. As a result of this new deal, the player will be earning an annual salary of €4.2 million.

Previously it had been reported the player's behaviour could see the French giants cash in. "Lyon manager Hubert Fournier has told star striker Lacazette to leave the club if he is unhappy," reported L'Equipe (via Get French Football) on Tuesday, adding:

According to a source contacted by the newspaper, his poor attitude in training and lack of effort in pre-season means that a "decision needs to be taken, one way or another." Lyon are forcing Lacazette’s hand: departure or contract extension.

TalkSPORT reported Liverpool planned a "swoop" for Lacazette's services, while PSG and Bayern were also monitoring the situation. The striker was previously offered to Arsenal for a £21 million fee, according to the Telegraph on June 29.

However, it appears the quartet are set to miss out on their target.
