Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Luciano Vietto Rumours
Arsenal's season ended on a high note on Saturday with a second consecutive FA Cup triumph at Wembley Stadium.
However, once again the Gunners failed to mount a genuine title challenge in the Premier League. They finished third in the English top flight, 12 points behind champions Chelsea.
The Gunners often looked good in the 2014-15 season, but many of their best performances came in the second half of the term, when the title was all but out of reach.

A few summer additions could see them make a proper tilt at the Premier League next season, and one area they do need to strengthen is the striking department.
The most recent reports have seen the north London outfit linked with Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Villarreal's Luciano Vietto.
Aubameyang has just completed an impressive season for Dortmund despite the Bundesliga outfit's struggles, as noted by German football expert Cristian Nyari:
According to French outlet Le 10 Sport (h/t the Telegraph), the Gunners are looking to sign the 25-year-old for £30 million.
Aubameyang has admitted in the past that he could be tempted away from Dortmund to join Real Madrid, but a move to the Emirates is certainly also a possibility.
The Gabonese forward can play in a variety of attacking positions, and his immense pace would surely be a perfect fit in Arsenal's already-pacy front line.
He has also been linked with Liverpool, according to Dean Jones of the Mirror, but the Emirates will surely be a more attractive prospect for Aubameyang given the Gunners' Champions League status for next season.
A thriftier target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger could come in the shape of the Argentine Vietto, and Metro's George Bellshaw reports that Arsenal have already triggered his £14.2 million release clause.
Again, they reportedly face competition from Liverpool for the 21-year-old striker, but he would be another fine addition, having netted 12 times in La Liga in 2014-15, according to WhoScored.com.
He is perhaps a more realistic purchase for Arsenal than Aubameyang, given both his reported value and Wenger's historical tendency to bring in younger stars he can mould into more complete players.
Bleacher Report Arsenal expert James McNicholas believes the Gunners have a decent chance of making a genuine title challenge next season and may well be right:
Still, a few new additions are needed—perhaps a new goalkeeper and defensive midfielder, but especially up front.
Olivier Giroud is a top-class striker but is injury-prone and often criticised for not scoring enough goals at key moments. Either Aubameyang or Vietto could potentially rectify such a problem.
