Paris Saint-Germain attacker Javier Pastore signed a four-year extension to his contract at the Parc des Princes on Monday, tying him to the club until 2019.

The 25-year-old Argentinian joined PSG in 2011 and played a key role for Laurent Blanc's side in the 2014-15 season as the club won the Ligue 1 title for the third consecutive year.

PSG confirmed the contract extension on their website, with Pastore outlining his desire to win the Champions League with the club:

"

I am very happy to extend my contract. I have just enjoyed the best season of my career. I am very proud of this season, but I couldn't do it without my teammates, so I want to thank them and the coaching staff and all the people who work at Paris Saint-Germain, not only the eleven players who start a match, but the whole Paris Saint-Germain family. I hope to continue to win titles here and get to play a Champions League final with this team. That's my main goal now. I think we can achieve it in the years to come... and why not next year? I hope so. My goal is to win the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain. That would be the ultimate.

"

Pastore did indeed enjoy a good season in 2014-15, scoring five goals and providing 12 assists in 34 league appearances, per WhoScored.com.

PSG beat Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League to reach the quarter-finals for the second year running, but they were ousted by Barcelona.

According to Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson, Pastore's new deal also includes an option for an extra year beyond 2019:

The extension is a just reward for Pastore who has consistently improved in his time in Paris and is widely regarded as one of the club's most effective players.
