Entourage: Movie Release Date, Athlete Cameo List and Preview

Vincent Chase, Ari Gold and the crew return Wednesday, June 3, with the release of a surefire summer blockbuster Entourage, a continuation of the hit HBO series of the same name.

Picking up right where the show left off, this time around, Chase will also direct a blockbuster film as opposed to just starring in it, with the backing of a newly minted studio head, Gold. 

As great as it will be to see Chase, the eccentric Gold, Eric Murphy, a slim-looking Turtle and Johnny Drama (and those calves), the real treat for sports fans everywhere will be the mind-boggling number of athlete appearances from various sports.

How about with former superstar NBA point guard Baron Davis, who took to Twitter to both preview his role and provide some behind-the-scenes footage:

As one should expect, there are loads of NFL cameos, too.

Most center on the New England Patriots, with a special return appearance by quarterback Tom Brady. It's quite interesting, too, as the Brady-Manning rivalry just received another boost when actor Jerry Ferrara, who plays Turtle, revealed to Sports Illustrated that Brady was a fill-in for the Mannings in season six:

"That scene in the show where he's in the golf tournament with Johnny Drama and Mark Wahlberg was initially for the Manning brothers," Ferrara told SI. "But then something happened where they had to pull out like four days before."

Joining Brady will be wideout Julian Edelman and tight end Rob Gronkowski, who make an appearance in the movie's official trailer for those with a trained eye: 

The NFL fun doesn't stop there, though, not with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in on the action.

Part of his cameo rests in the video below as he sits next to Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, a clip also showcasing other star power such as singer Pharrell Williams:

It's not all NFL, though.

Amar'e Stoudemire, who suits up for Cuban's Mavericks, will make an appearance, as a behind-the-scenes shot from the movie's Instagram page shows him with former New York Giants great Michael Strahan:

Perhaps the biggest name of all set to make an appearance doesn't play football but steps in an Octagon in the UFC.

As one can glean from the videos and promotions, Ronda Rousey plays a big part in the epic movie.

Even better, she told Naibe Reynoso of Fox News Latino the cameo helps to show a different side: "It was nice to kind of give a glimpse of how girly and self-conscious and everything else I could be, when people assume I’m just this callous, tough chick all the time.”

When Hollywood decided to roll with an Entourage movie, fans knew to expect the most recognizable faces in sports to make an appearance.

Wednesday's release accomplishes this while bringing in an all-encompassing cast to represent the sporting world, which for years has gone hand in hand with the show of the same name.

Reuniting with the crew of Entourage means sports fans everywhere can also see some of their favorite athletes hit the big screen starting Wednesday.
