Daily Fantasy Baseball 2015: MLB FanDuel Ideal Lineup for June 1
UPDATE: With the rainout in Boston and the news that Yasmani Grandal will not start, we will substitute Grandal, Trevor Plouffe and Hanley Ramirez with Jonathan Lucroy, Justin Turner and Steven Souza.
Who says you can't have it all in a FanDuel daily league? We begin the month of June with a stud pitcher, a Triple Crown threat and four Dodgers slugging in Colorado's thin air.
As always, confirm that your chosen players are in their respective team's lineup and stay away from games that may be rained out. An excellent website for lineups and weather is Rotowire.com.
Let's look at what's in store for June 1.
P Jacob deGrom, $9,900
The Mets' 26-year-old hurler has had a superb season to date, sporting a 2.71 ERA while fanning 63 in 63 innings of work. More importantly, deGrom has averaged 17.443 FanDuel points a game in his last three starts. The righty faces the Padres, who rank third in the majors with 424 strikeouts, in spacious Petco Park.

C Yasmani Grandal, $2,700
1 of 8
It will be a tough day for Kyle Kendrick (6.38 ERA) tomorrow in Colorado. Of all of tomorrow's available catchers, with at least 30 games played, only Russell Martin (2.8) averages more FanDuel points per game than Yasmani Grandal. As part of a strong offense playing in Colorado against a subpar pitcher, $2,700 is a bargain.
UPDATE: Grandal will not start on Monday so we will be putting in Jonathan Lucroy ($2900). Lucroy is fresh off the disabled list and will bat second against the Cardinals.
1B Paul Goldschmidt, $5,200
2 of 8
Goldschmidt is batting .354 and slugging .680, with 15 home runs. He will face Atlanta's Alex Wood in Arizona's hitter-friendly Chase Field.
2B Howie Kendrick, $2,800
3 of 8
Howie Kendrick has been cold as of late, but he is batting in the middle of the Dodgers' strong lineup in Colorado. The price is right. Did I mention that his opposing pitcher, Kyle Kendrick, is tied for second in the majors with 13 home runs allowed?
3B Trevor Plouffe, $2,800
4 of 8
Trevor Plouffe hit his eighth home run of the year on Sunday and has been red hot, batting .379 in his last seven games. Minnesota's third baseman faces Clay Buchholz (4.33 ERA) in the hitter-friendly Fenway Park.
UPDATE: The Twins are rained out in Boston so we will use the Dodgers' Justin Turner ($2600) to man the hot corner. Turner has five home runs in 99 at bats and will be facing Kyle Kendrick in Colorado.
SS Andrelton Simmons, $2,200
5 of 8
Of all eligible shortstops with at least 30 games played, only Jhonny Peralta (2.8) and Brandon Crawford (2.8) average more FanDuel points per game than Simmons (2.2). Atlanta's shortstop also faces Archie Bradley (5.28 ERA) in Chase Field. This is the special of the day.
OF Joc Pederson, $3,400
6 of 8
The likely Rookie of the Year hit his 13th home run of the season on Sunday. He takes his hot bat to Colorado on Monday.
OF Hanley Ramirez, $3,400
7 of 8
Hanley has 12 home runs for the season and found his groove in Texas over the weekend, averaging 5.31 FanDuel points per game in the four-game series. He returns to Boston to face Mike Pelfrey and the Minnesota Twins.
UPDATE: The Red Sox are rained out so we will insert super slugger Steven Souza ($3300). Souza has homered in four of the Rays' last six games, including three straight in Camden Yards. While Garrett Richards at Anaheim is a tougher test, Souza has a ton of power and can steal bases too.
OF Andre Ethier, $2,600
8 of 8
Andre Ethier is batting .305 and slugging .519, but he only has six home runs. This is a value buy because of the Dodgers' likely explosion against Kyle Kendrick in Colorado.
