Josh Hamilton Injury: Updates on Rangers Star's Hamstring and Return
The Texas Rangers have activated Josh Hamilton from the 15-day disabled list, ending a stint that began June 1 after he suffered a hamstring injury at the end of May.
Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram passed along the news, with the team optioning Joey Gallo as part of the roster move.
On Monday, Hamilton said he's ready to play, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News:

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
"I was hoping to play today, but we decided to give me a day to recover after the travel and the workout. I’d like to get a week or 10 days in with the team and manage it and then get the All-Star break to give it some rest. I talked with Adrian Beltre and he’s managed that injury before and he said that sometimes the best thing to do is to play with it. Right now I’m comfortable to a certain extent.
"
On June 4, he received a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to help accelerate the recovery, according to Grant.

“It’s frustrating, but you just push yourself forward and look at what is in front of you, not in the past,” commented Hamilton, per Grant. “I’m just going to do the same things that I did the first time around.”
Hamilton was referencing the near-two-month stretch he missed at the beginning of the season with a shoulder injury.
The 34-year-old outfielder is currently batting .273 with two home runs and five RBI in 22 at-bats.
He is one of the biggest X-factors in Major League Baseball right now because of his potential at the plate, and the Rangers will be eager to get him back. And adding additional intrigue to his return is Texas' weekend series with the Los Angeles Angels, Hamilton's former club, starting Friday in Arlington.
