After meeting with Commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will be eligible to play during Week Three of the 2009 season.

Vick was originally going to have to wait until Week Six, but Goodell decided to move up the date, not because of his performance on the field, but because of his actions off the field.

As far as the Eagles are concerned, this could have a major impact as far as trimming their roster down. The team has to decide by 6:00 pm on Saturday who will be part of their 53-man roster.

It should be interesting to see what the Eagles decide to do with Vick and whether or not they decide to keep him on the roster.

As of now, the roster is filled with four quarterbacks (Vick, Donovan McNabb, A.J. Feeley, and Kevin Kolb). Since McNabb is already the starter for Week One, the organization has a decision to make over the next couple of days on what to do with the remaining quarterbacks.

There have been numerous rumors swirling about possibly trading Feeley or Kolb if the Eagles decide to keep Vick. Now that he is eligible to play in the third week of the season, and will only miss two regular season games, the Eagles may be more tempted to keep Vick on the 53-man roster and see what kind of impact he can have on the offense.
