Opening night in College Football and we’ve got a good one to start it off. Two teams looking for respectability in their conferences get to show off their skills on national TV.

NC State came on strong in the second half of the season last year and look to move forward in 2009. QB Russell Wilson is a star in the making. The Sophomore was the sole reason for the Pack’s revival, and his injury in the Papajohns.com bowl was the Wolfpack’s downfall in that game. NC State will go as far as Wilson can take them this season.
South Carolina has yet to reach the heights that many expected when Steve Spurrier took over 5 years ago. They’ve been a solid program, no question, but not the offensive juggernaut squads he built at Florida. Sophomore Stephen Garcia could be the most talented QB Spurrier has had at South Carolina and needs to put his off the field issues behind him if he is to take that next step.
