Binjimen Victor to Ohio State: Buckeyes Land 4-Star WR Prospect

Mike ChiariJan 18, 2016

Few wide receivers in the 2016 class possess a skill set comparable to Binjimen Victor's, which is reason enough for Ohio State fans to get excited that their team secured a commitment from the elite talent on Monday:

According to 247Sports, the Coconut Creek High School standout is a 4-star prospect who rates as the No. 12 wideout and the No. 85 overall recruit in the nation.

Victor already has spectacular size at 6'3 ¾" and 177 pounds, and when coupling that with his impressive speed, it's easy to view the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native as a future collegiate star.

The up-and-coming pass-catcher had no shortage of options at his disposal, as Florida, Ohio State, Auburn, LSU and Alabama were among the schools offering him scholarships.

Representatives from many of those schools were present for Victor's spring game prior to the 2015 high school season, and he may have increased interest even with the show he put on.

According to Luke Stampini of 247Sports, Victor wanted to show the scouts that he was capable of excelling in multiple areas: "I just had to show out and show them what I can do. I'm not only a deep threat person, I can run routes and do other things as well. So, I just had to show them what I can do."

While Victor certainly took his time and weighed all of his options before settling on a college, his comments leading up to his decision suggested that he knew precisely what type of school he wanted to attend, per SFHighSchoolSports.com:

Victor apparently feels that Ohio State satisfies those requirements, so now the focus shifts toward his role with the team and how good he might ultimately become.

He is freakishly athletic, but it wouldn't be fair to heap extravagant expectations on him early in his collegiate career.

If he is utilized properly and made a centerpiece of the offense at some point, though, his potential would be seemingly limitless.

Victor is an extremely special talent, and he will be one of the most interesting prospects to follow as he makes the transition from high school to college in 2016.
