Roman Reigns Deserves to Win the Money in the Bank Briefcase
Roman Reigns announced on Thursday’s episode of WWE SmackDown that he will be entering the Money in the Bank ladder match at the June pay-per-view, and it is clear that he should be the one to pull down the briefcase.
Reigns lost his shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, but holding the briefcase for several months would be an acceptable consolation prize.
Since making his debut as a singles wrestler, Reigns has made improvements in the ring and on the mic. While there is no doubt he could use more refinement in longer singles matches, the company has minimized how much he speaks.

One of the major improvements is his character. Instead of being forced into the role of the second coming of The Rock, he is playing the role of a tough-guy enforcer who comes off as calm, quiet and cool.
The change in character has helped the WWE Universe get behind him as well. The fans in Philadelphia at the Royal Rumble started a wave of hate for Reigns that has not totally subsided, but weeks of solid build and character development have helped fans get behind his cause.
The people who are starting to like Reigns have a reason to support him now. From his performance against Daniel Bryan at Fastlane to his in-ring war with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, he has embraced the pressure and surprised doubters.
Even Reigns' match against Big Show was better than expected.
Now, with all of this experience and improvement, one way to keep Reigns in the championship discussion without giving away his first title victory at a secondary pay-per-view is to let him win the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Holding the guaranteed shot at the world title would give him a storyline to build around moving forward. If he isn't directly involved with the world title, it would be the kind of prop that could hold him over until WrestleMania season.
Whether Reigns cashes in ahead of time for a chance at WrestleMania or does it at another PPV such as the Royal Rumble or Survivor Series, the company could create a genuinely exciting moment for Reigns that would have fans organically cheering for him.
Vince McMahon and WWE Creative are pushing Reigns hard as one of the next true top stars, and the road back to the main event of WrestleMania would be more effective with the Money in the Bank briefcase.
