Wrestlemania 26 - Recommended Booking and Card

While you read this please keep in mind the following.WWE has to build new stars and where betterto build them but Mania. This card is designed to be used with the currentroster and expected due back dates and not a bunch of legends who are retired.

The purpose of the card is to DRAW MONEY, MAKE NEW STARS, TELL STORIES AND
TO CONTINUE AND FINISH FEUDS.

Wrestlemania 26 Total Duration - 240 mins

Opening Match - US Title

Carlito v Primo

Carlito would have won the title from Kofi towards the end of the year.
Then he would have re ignited his feud with his brother after being
eliminated by Primo at the Royal Rumble. They would fight to the back on the Rumble PPV
and feud back and forth for two months on RAW.
This match would be a fast paced opener with lots of Mexican Spots which both men are
more than capable of doing.

Winner - Primo
Duration - 10 mins
(He needs the win more than Carlito and Carlito can then move to upper mid card
 while Primo gets more experience)


Backstage Segment - Legacy
Tension is building between Legacy and Randy Orton says he needs to know have his stablemates
got his back tonight.


ECW Extreme Invitational - ECW Championship

Shelton Benjamin v Eziekiel Jackson v Hurricane v Paul Birchill v Seamus v Tommy Dreamer
v Vladamir Kozlov v Tyler Reks v William Regal v Yoshi Tatsu v Zack Ryder v Charlie Haas
v Curt Hakins v Jimmy Wang Yang v Jamie Noble v Jesse v Festus

This match would feature nearly all of the ECW roster as they dont have the name to draw money alone.
The Title would have been made vacant after Vladamir and Big Zeke both pinned Christian at NO WAY OUT in a
triple threat. Then Tiffany makes an Extreme Rules match where anyone can enter and the first pinfall wins.
This is a way of getting the newer names exposure and the experience of a big stage. Not only that but this
would be a fun spot fest with William Regal as the ring general telling the youngsters where to be and
with Shelton and Dreamer to take the dangerous spots. Not only that, but its better having the lower mid
carders in a fun match, than on a dark match as lumberjacks. There are several spots that would be amazing in this
and it would also keep Shelton Benjamin out of Money In The Bank because its embarrassing having him in
it every year as a spot Monkey. Also, the Wrestlers from the other shows who have nothing to work would
be in this match.

 (with a devastating paydirt on to a folded out steel chair on Dreamer.)
(He goes on to have ECW Title matches on PPV and TV which keeps his mic time down, so we hide the negative and
show the positive)


Unified Tag Team Tiles
Cryme Tyme v Hart Dynasty

This match would see Cryme Tyme as the champions after Edge screwed Jericho out of the titles on either Smackdown
or No Way out. Cryme tyme would drop the belts here to the Hart Dynasty in a traditional Tag Team match which
would see Natalya pull a heelish tactic to help the Hart Duo pick up the victory.

Winners - The Hart Dynasty (who could feud with a newly brought up team from FCW or against a vetren like Finley)

Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Kofi Kingston v Jack Swagger v MVP v Matt Hardy v The Miz v R Truth v Mike Knox v Kane

This match would be more psychololical than the previous money in the Banks as i feel that they are too spotty
and in a few years the bar will be raised too high. The build coming into the match would be a mini feud as is now
between Swagger and MVP. They would emphasise MVPs background and prison days and hopefully this would get him over
a little more with the fans. Matt Hardy and Mike knox or Kane could have a mini feud on Smackdown leading up to this
and with Hardy and Kane in the Ring here, the youngsters would have two Ring Generals to show them where to be.
Kofi and R truth would supply the crazy spots.

Winner - Jack Swagger
Duration 15 mins
( although i would love to say the Miz and then have him do a staredown at the end of the show
similar to the end of Wrestlemania 10 with Bret and Owen)


Celebrity Involvement - Whatever Publicity Stunt or Celebrity Skit to pick up ratings would go next.
The WWE would have Khali, Mark Henry, Ab Washington / Tony Atlas, Santino, Jillian Hall, Chavo / Hornswoggle
to play around with in some way. I have no interest in this but i will throw in a segmant for comedy or whatever as there is
bound to be one.

Intercontinental Title Match
Rey Mysterio v Evan Bourne

Nuff Said, give these two 15 mins and let them tear the house down. A incredible lucha style match with the Buildup being
a simple RAW V SMACKDOWN match for the title. This would be a babyface match (look it up if you dont know) and
Bourne would go over with either a fancy roll up or the Shooting Star Press.

Winner - Evan Bourne (Afterwards Mysterio and Bourne shake hands)
Duration - 15 mins


Womens Two Fall Match - First Fall Divas Championship, Second Fall Womens Championship

Melina v Michelle Macool v Natalya v Gail Kim v Beth Phoenix v Mickie James

These are the only 6 women who can wrestle in WWE so i would give them 10 mins to do a few spots then leave. The highlight
of this match would be Melinas entrance as always. At least in a match like this you have the actual workers of the womens
division and not the prostitutes who just scream and do a buch of hair grabs. Keep it short and sweet and let the crowd take
their bathroom breaks.

Streak Match
Undertaker v Dolph Ziggler

I would book this match for two reasons. #1 Undertaker has been feuding with guys at Mania the past few years who
are already stars. This would be a chance for him to elevate Ziggler. #2 Its the perfect way to get a young guy over.
And remember "You dont have to go over to get over". I would book it so that Ziggler somehow illegally eliminates
the Undertaker from the Royal Rumble. Then have them feud throughout Smackdown and No Way Out with the story that Ziggler
keeps alluding the Undertaker until the Match is made. I would make sure that it seems realistic that he could win
against the Undertaker by perhaps making him more aggressive and even a change of ring name (am i the only one who
finds him hard to take serious with a name like Dolph Ziggler???)The match itself would be competitive. Undertaker goes
for a tombstone and Ziggler hits that reverse paydirt hes been using. Nice Spot i thought id just throw out there.

Winner - The Undertaker 18 - 0
Duration - 18 mins

( Perhaps a nod or some sort of gesture to Ziggler when the lights come up to give him
that extra rub or else keep this feud going to Judgment Day and a Casket Match or other gimmick.)


Grudge Tag Team Match
Edge & Christian v Chris Jericho & Big Show

Give the people what they want and what they want is Edge & Christian. This would be an amazing match and would be
booked that Edge returns at the Rumble and eliminates Jericho but the Big Show just keeps saving him the following weeks
so Edge decides to re unite with Christian when the ECW title is declared vacant. All four of these guys are main
eventers and dont need to be in a title match. Thus, why i had Cryme Tyme get the titles at No Way Out.
A typical tag team match with a hectic finish where everyone gets to hit their finishers.

Winners - Edge & Christian

Grudge Match
HHH (heel) V Shawn Michaels (face)

I firmly believe that HHH is much better a heel even though a lot of people think HBK should heel out again soon. \
This would start off beofre Royal Rumble with DX staying together. Decension would occur around Armageddon
and HBK would eliminate HHH from the Rumble. Then at No Way out he would eliminate him him again only for HHH to
turn on him and cost him the title. The feud would be played up that HHH says that Shawn doesnt have
another title run in him and that he was always better than him. And at Wrestlemania he will end Mr wrestlemania for ever.
The match would be similar to that of Summerslam 02. Its HBK at Mania. Nuff Said

Winner - HHH

Bryan Danielson Debut -  Bryan Danielson jumps the guardrail and stares down HHH who stands over A BLoody HBK. HHH leaves)


WWE Title Triple Threat
Randy Orton (with Legacy) v John Cena v Batista

I always thought the WWE lost alot of Money by having Cena and Batista at Summerslam 08 as did Batista. However i think
that this match could be built up quiet well using the WWEs production value. This match would be pitched as the top 3
superstars of the new age of superatars.

FOR EXAMPLE

    Harly Race/ Ric Flair Era
    Hogan / Warrior Era
    Bret / Shawn Era
    Austin / Rock Era
    Cena / Batista Era
    The Age of Orton

Now while i dont agree that Cena, Batista or Orton could carry any of the others jocks, t shirt sales say different.
I think this match would draw money and doesnt have to be anything special but a quick paced triple threat with lots of
pin break ups.The main story would be the tension between Cena and Batista and common hatred of Orton, and also tension
between Legacy and Orton which would be building up over time leading up to this.
During the match someone or all of Legacy would cost Orton the Title.

Winner - Batista
Duration - 16 mins

(Cena Salutes Batista who gets one more run with the title before he packs it in)


Backstage Promo - CM Punk
Nuff Said. Punk is a heat magnet and would easily get the crowd to despise him.
After his promo i would have old school camera work with both men being showed stretching and on their way to the ring to build the tension.


Main Event World Title
CM Punk v John Morrison

John Morrison would be repackaged and made to be more like the Johnny Nitro Character. I had no problem with the John
Morrison name change but that was when he was a heel. I also thought if he acted like he did on the dirt sheet as a babyface,
it would be funny and maybe "Rock like" in how he insults others.
Anyway back to the booking. Morrison would win the Royal Rumble
and continue to pick up wins while on Smackdown. The type of build up Morrison needs would be similar to that of the Shawn
Michaels Vignettes leading into Wrestlemania 12. CM Punk would continue his AWESOME promos. I know many people may not
think that there is enough star power in this match to draw money but look at HHH v Batista, Kurt v Lesnar, HHH v Jericho,
Sid v Undertaker, Diesel v HBK ETC ............. Its not going to be the two biggest names but it will be an outstanding match
and get back to the basics of ""the young guy with the incredible talent , wins the rumble and achieves his dream of
becoming champion and a huge superstar on the grandest stage of them all, and the mouthpice jerk gets his ass kicked.)
Remember Wrestling doesnt have to be complicated with some storyline about a three way with a cougar or kicking someones wife in the
head. If i have to sit through another match with that type of crap invovled in the buildup i think id like HHH to hit me in the head
with a sledgehammer.  Wrestling in itself,( the moves the selling, the promos, is about good versus evil, and exploitations of the
stereotypes of life, although with CM Punk, there are shades of gray,which makes for more interesting viewing.

Winner John Morrison
Duration - 25 mins
The Smackdown lockroom comes out to celebrate with him as Mania goes off the Air and the new talent is "made".



Now going by my calculations the matches have a total time of 176 minutes. So lets round that up to 190 for an overflow.
that leaves 50 minutes for advertising and ring entrances and all the opening and closing segments. The ECW match would not
require an entrance for everyone.
Money In the Bank Entrances are cut short. That would give Taker HHH HBK and Cena plenty of time to bore us to death
with a stupid drawn out entrance as usual. Hey maybe Lemmy will show up and forget the words to THE GAME again.
Anyway the purpose of this column was to show that Wrestlemania can be booked really strong this year utilizing the younger talent
while still having big draws on the card.
I believe this card would draw a huge amount of buyrates, it does the job of putting over new talent, exposing lesser known wrestlers,
and having back to basics good v bad feuds instead of the Bull Shit, over produced story of the two main events at Wrestlemania 25.
