Man City Fan Vows to Get Man United Tattoo If He Can Raise £10,000 for Sick Son

Mark Pinder loves his football club but not as much as he loves his son.

Mark is a massive Manchester City fan and has come up with a unique way to try to raise money for his 12-year-old son and "best friend," Kirk, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Mark has watched his son's condition worsen in recent years, and Kirk can no longer walk or raise his arms. 

As Mark writes on his JustGiving page:

I have had to watch him go from walking as a young child up to the age of 8 where he then became confined to a wheelchair, he can no longer use his arms, he also faces the prospect of having steel rods inserted into his spine and will have to go onto a feeding tube. He will also have to use machines to help him breathe during the day and night.

He also has a short life expectancy, he will either die of heart failure or pneumonia which will happen between his late teens - early twenties. It's such a cruel condition and the is nothing worse than watching your child deteriorate before you eyes and there is nothing you can do to stop it, I DON'T WANT MY SON AND MY BEST FRIEND TO DIE.

"

It will be expensive to treat Kirk, but Mark will do anything to help his child, so he has promised to get a tattoo of Manchester City's fierce rivals Manchester United if he can raise £10,000.

"I am going to have the Man Utd badge tattooed on me but only if I reach £10,000," Mark said. "It will devastate me but not half as much as it will losing my son, and I am willing to help do anything to save him and other sufferers around the world, so please help and donate." 

Tattoo or no tattoo, we can only hope he goes on to raise much more than that, and if he does decide to get the Manchester United badge tattooed on him, it will be a badge of honour.
