Floyd Mayweather 'Walks Away' with Over $800,000 After Weekend of Gambling
Just throw it on the pile.
Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. walked away with a healthy sum after landing four sporting bets over the weekend.
He posted his selections on Instagram with the message: "The last 4 days have been great. I'm getting paid while watching others entertain and perform. I don't do anything for free. I bet $350,000.00 and walked away with $827,272.73."
Mayweather won on three NBA games while also backing Gennady Golovkin vs. Willie Monroe Jr. to be finished in under 5.5 rounds.
He got particularly lucky on his boxing bet because, as Keith Idec of Boxing Scene noted:
"Referee Jack Reiss stopped the scheduled 12-round fight 45 seconds into the sixth round Saturday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Moments earlier, Monroe (19-2, 6 KOs) reluctantly beat Reiss' 10 count following the third knockdown Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) scored in the fight. Mayweather would've lost his five-figure bet had the fight continued another 46 seconds.
"
Estimates say Mayweather could have made as much as $420 million from his recent megafight with Manny Pacquiao, but we find it interesting he never seems to post any of his losing bets.
