Cristiano Ronaldo Scores as Real Madrid Try to Force Liga Title Race to Last Day

Mark PattersonMay 17, 2015

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a crucial goal for Real Madrid at Espanyol as they tried to take the La Liga title race to the death.

The Portugal forward broke the deadlock in the second half, and at the time of scoring, the goal meant Barcelona would have to win at Atletico Madrid to secure the title on Sunday evening.

Ronaldo added a second late in the game, but by that point, Lionel Messi had put Barcelona in front, meaning the title was heading to Catalonia.
