Do Not Feed The Trolls!

What is a troll? Our good friends at Wikipedia define a troll as: "In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

In the mid 90's, many famous rappers such as Biggie Smalls and Mase used the term "playa hater" which later became just simply "hater" which referred to people who were jealous, envious, and full of hatred towards others who were more successful and accomplished. I personally believe trolls and haters are very much in the same and are often interchangable.

To break down the profile and characteristics of a troll one must first understand why the troll is a troll in the first place. Here are the most common characteristics of a troll:

1) They still live with their parents. If you still live with your parents past a certain age which I will leave up to society to determine, then many things probably went wrong for you in life. First off, you are not a REAL man. You never paid rent, bills, a mortgage, you have no sense of independance, etc. I am not talking about those who are helping their parents and taking care of their parents. I am talking about the losers who gave up on life and resorted to hiding out in mommy's basement. If you get into a debate on anything with me and you still live with your parents then the debate is automatically over by instant knock out because you still live with your mom.

2) They do not have a real job or ever had one. Trolls often are unstable losers who could not obtain or hold down a decent job. Therefore, they have extended hours of free time to troll the internet and provoke, harass, and hate on those who are trying to do productive, positive, and creative things. Again since mommy and daddy pay for everything, there is not much incentive nor motivation for these trolls to go out and try to get a real job and contribute to society.

3) They never post an actual real photo of themselves as their avatar for they are weak and ugly as hell. Ask a troll to post a real actual photo of themselves and nine out of 10 times they will not because, to be blunt, they are too ugly, weak, and ashamed. The other one time in ten, they post an actual real photo of themselves you really start to feel truly sorry for them once you see what they really look like.

4) Often times trolls talk a lot of trash to the point of even making threats, but like Jay-Z said: "You know the type loud as a motor bike, But wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight". A few times when trolls threaten me, I said alright lets do this and video tape it and put it on YouTube so the whole world can see what the results would be if we really did step into the ring with each other. Then we all know that every excuse in the history of man comes out of the troll's mouth at this point.

5) Trolls are blindly biased and post extremely nut-hugging things instead of facts, or credible opinions. I used to be a top contributor to one fight website which I will not mention. There were a dozen decent people on that site, but there were also numerous trolls galore to the point where the moderators were even trolls. One moderator who really looked up to me and wanted to hang out with me whenever I came to his town turned on me and began to dislike me because I would post real talk about one of his favorite fighter idols. This moderator then began to change my postings and words to what ever he felt like changing them to. Finally this moderator ended up banning me for purely personal and illegitimate reasons. As soon as he banned me dozens of members tried to petition to bring me back and to this day they still talk about me like I am 2Pac. Apparently about a year ago this moderator started spreading rumors about me that I rejoined that site under an alias. (Which is not true because he banned my ISP, so even if I wanted to come back I could not). That site still highly values my writing still to this day and posts several of my articles on their front page directly from B/R.

6) Trolls are just plain jealous, envious, and have hatred towards those who are: more intelligent, stronger, better looking, successful, and connected. Rather than be inspired by someone who did great things they hate on that person. It is so much easier to give up and make excuses then to be inspired or motivated by someone. I always choose to take the higher road meaning I learn and am inspired by those who do great things and I want to do things even greater than them. If you want to take the troll road then that is on you.

7) Trolls never been to sporting event in person. Often times, I make a big deal about going to the fights and seeing them in person because I am a true fight fan. I paid thousands and thousands of dollars on ringside seats and hotels and traveling to see my favorite fighters because again I am a true fight fan. A lot of people claim to be the biggest fight fan on the planet. If that were true wouldn't I see them sitting between me and Tiger Woods then? To even show you guys how cool I am, I often get as much coverage via interviews, photos, videos of the fights, press conferences, training, etc for I would certainly appreciate it from someone if I was not able to be there myself.

8) Trolls have never excelled in the sport that they are most trolling about. For example the biggest trolls are often in the fight sports. Boxing and MMA must have the worst trolls of any sport period. Trolls never have stepped onto a mat or in a ring before. Trolls have never even sparred or hit the bags or targets before. Trolls never been in an actual fight before and no getting beat up in high school does not count.

9) Trolls got beat up in high school. Trolls most likely got picked on and beat up in high school and are trying to some how redeem and relive their high school years by trying to cyber bully and provoke/harass people via the internet. I am not saying it is their fault why they got beat up so many times in high school maybe it was maybe it was not. Personally I believe in karma and I actually defended and protected a number of weaker guys in my highschool from douche bag jocks and bullies for again I believe in karma and this in itself is another whole article on its own.

10) Trolls tend to have a rather unhealthy angst towards women for some reason. I notice a lot of trolls tend to bash women to the point of it being rather psycho or unstable. Do not get mad at women because you never been with one. You need to go back to the drawing board and figure out what you are doing wrong and figure out what you should be doing instead.

So, folks, these are the 10 most common characteristics of a troll. Have you been the innocent victim of a troll? Or are you yourself a troll perhaps? Here on B/R a site that I highly admire, enjoy, and support to the fullest is unfortunately not free of the burden and nuisance of trolls. But the wisest thing one can do when encountering a troll is to ignore them and in essence do not feed them. Trolls only are as strong as we allow them to be by letting them get a rise out of us.

I say just ignore the trolls. Do not feed the trolls. The trolls will then eventually just  go away. Look there are a number of trolls who join this site just to talk smack, harass, and hate on some really good talented writers but if you notice by looking at their profiles they never post an actual photo of theirself nor do they even write any articles and contribute to this site. So again Do not feed the trolls. When you are a victim of trolls just simply respond with: "I DO NOT FEED TROLLS". Or you can even post the link to this article so they get the harsh reality of the truth or you can just of course simply ignore them.

So together my brothers and sisters we can win this ugly battle with the trolls and keep our wonderful beautiful site strong and proud.
