The Eulogy Of an Icon
Now I know that Sting isn't retired yet, but with Bound for Glory being his last wrestling event, I figured now would be a better time than any.
He is truly "The Icon"
Many fans would agree to this, but then there are those who would disagree. This man has had a career that not even Mark Callaway could dream of having.
Steve has had a career that sky rockets above all others, and he never stepped once inside a WWE ring. Not many other American wrestlers can lay claim to this.
He has put over more young guys in 3 years than anyone else. AJ, Super Mex, Daniels are just a few.
If that's not an Icon, I don't know what is.
His Legacy and Accomplishments
He has held the World title in almost every company he has been in. He has been listed as the PWI Comeback of the Year in 2006, PWI ranked him #1 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 1992, and various other newsletter awards.
The only titles in TNA he has not held are the Legends and X-Division titles.
He has held the WCW Heavyweight title 6 times, TNA World Heavyweight title twice, the NWA Heavyweight once with WCW and once with TNA.
Those are just a fraction of the titles he has held in his 2 decades in the business.
Inspirational
Sting is just inspirational. He is the reason I want to get into the business. The fact that he does nothing in WWE, and still had the career he did, if that doesn't make you feel good, you don't have a pulse.
